Mindset: The New Psychology of Success
By: Carol Dweck
1)
The general theme or argument of the book
basically encompasses the fact that your mindset can influence your success
exponentially and that if you believe in your goal that you will be far more
likely to reach whatever goal you want to reach.
2)
This book most definitely enhanced what we are learning
in ENT3003 because it applies to how you must believe in yourself 100% of the
time because if you don’t nobody will. It is all about the attitude and push
you put in to your own ventures if you want them to succeed at the level you
want them to.
3)
If I had to design an exercise for ENT3003 based
on the book I just read I would make students list step by step why they
believe they are going to be able to reach the goals that they want. Make them
picture a reality in their head which may help them carve a clear picture of
the path they must take to reach their full potential.
4)
What mostly surprised me from reading this book
is that even though experience is important you have to go with your gut and
believe in yourself sometimes even though whatever course of action you are
about to take may be risky because in the end if it doesn’t work you just go
back to step 1 and if it does you are already at step 2 which can go a very
long way especially in a new business venture.
Hey Ricardo,
ReplyDeleteThis seems like a nice book to read. While there are a lot of potential struggles that come with being an entrepreneur, it is nice to see that there is a book out there that discusses how to be positive throughout a venture. The concept of going against experience and common knowledge seems daunting, but I agree that sometimes going with your gut can provide the best results.
