Venture Concept 2

       1)           I believe there are plenty of opportunities out there but one that really catches my eye is how people are always so fed up with how on social media there is basically only supper leftist opinions or extremely right. Just how CNN is clearly democratic and Fox News is obviously more inclined towards the republican side of the political system. I think there is a great opportunity to create on both aspects of the political system.

       The main unmet need is that people tend to be bias due to where and how we get our information on politics and I believe the public needs a news company that will attack both sides of the political spectrum fairly. This is a need that has become more and more important as the years have gone by and technology along with the way information travels have evolved. In order to meet this need now people are posting their bias opinions on social media and think they are right for doing so creating an immense social divide. I believe this is possible to a 90% degree only because politics are so saturated with power already it may be hard to implement such a business. A taxi company that runs solely on electricity. My girlfriend is a sustainability major and she stated electric cars are much cheaper than cars that run on petroleum.

Due to the fact electric car energy is much cheaper than cars that run on gases energy, in the long run would make Uber go out of business.

           I believe everyone is a likely customer, if you could Uber while saving the planet and probably for cheaper who wouldn’t. The only reason I believe this opportunity would be difficult to exploit is because a massive amount of start-up money is needed and the fact that not many individuals have electric cars. Why I believe the reason why I saw this opportunity is because my uncle David works at Tesla in Miami and after going to the dealership to visit him I decided my first self-bought car would be a Tesla, therefore, I think my desires were what propelled this opportunity. I have been around entrepreneurship my whole life starting with both my grandparents as well as my father, they have all started their own companies. My grandpa from my mothers side has a liquor factory and a safari because he loves animals and my grandfather from my dads side has a plastic company where they manufacture tubes along with other plastic items. My father left his birth country of Ecuador when he was 22 to go to college in Mexico and from there he ended up here in Florida and started his own publicity company. He made publicity for a Mexican airline as well as a few other corporations, after he did that for a few years he moved back to Ecuador and started his own production company. The production company has been doing very well and they are now producing Spanish TV shows and selling them to Netflix. I as well have started up two companies in my time, one was here in Gainesville where I went out and invested in a press to print unicolored designs on shirts and sell them to frats and sororities. The other company is brand new, it has only been running for about 7 months and is called R&R LLC because I started it with my dad and both our names start with an R, it consists of selling airplane parts from here to the Ecuadorian military. My father met some people that were interested in Ecuador and I know how to get the parts for a great price here through my girlfriend because her dad owns a private jet company so he is helping me out as well. We are hoping to expand to other countries soon, our next target is Panama we are confident by the end of the year we will have them as another client. The reason I joined this course is because entrepreneurship is such a wide topic I believe learning from as many peoples experiences and advice can only help and not hurt. I am excited to see what I get from this course and am looking forward to the rest of the semester.

For my career I am strongly considering becoming a tax lawyer, focused in aeronautic law. I believe that in order to become the best manager I can be in my field the most important aspect is organization and responsibility. If I can completely master both of these factors I will be able to manage being a tax lawyer with clarity and simplicity, this is why I believe it is essential all managers apply these components in their day to day lives. The main thing I can do this semester to better develop my skills in organization and responsibility aspect would be to have a check list every day and make sure I get to cross everything off by the end of the day. This will also help develop my time management which I believe is also crucial.

           The quantifiable metric I believe I would be able to apply to better reach my goal is count how many days out of the month I get to complete all the tasks on my daily lists. Extensively, at the end of every month I will take into consideration my time management and try to better monthly.

Yes, I am positive I can develop all the skills necessary to reach my goals because I do in fact have all the resources possibly available. I have the time and space to work on m y school work because I do not have a job at the moment, as well as being able to go onto campus to have any question answered is a big help.

These resources and actions will help prepare me greatly for what is to come in my planned future because they will teach me time management and how to be more organized and focused for law school.

           Even though the time frame for this goal is one semester I will be keeping up with my progress monthly within the semester to better see my improvement at the end and push myself harder every month to get to where I want to be.

During this semester I will be keeping better track of my organization and efficiency, I will measure my progress monthly and I will use all the resources campus offers since they are right beneath my feet, these actions will help me prepare and better my time management for my future in law school all within a semester.

           The only roadblocks I can see for this upcoming semester are the same ones I always encounter which are battling with my Crohns disease. The reason why my condition would affect me in reaching my goals more efficiently would be because I get random flare ups at random moments during the week. Sometimes it lags on for a few days and in other occasions I have to take a ride to the ER to try and calm the symptoms professionally. However, I do believe there are factors I can consider to lessen the symptoms and better my health overall which would be to eat very clean and try to get a good night sleep. Even though this is an auto-immune disease what I eat has a lot to do with my symptoms and how feel the next day, therefore I will continue trying to better and effect my eating habits.

2) What was recommended I change about my business opportunity is simply the fact that I should find something more people pleasing rather than just a cardboard tip for the area where customer will be placing their mouths to take a drink from my product. Also, it was mentioned that I should try to open up my customer base more than just to college students because a sustainable drink could be a product that appeals to many more people raging from all different ages that care about the progression of saving our world. 

3) I changed my venture concept based on my feedback because I decided I had to add a small plastic tip for people to be able to take a drink with more ease instead of having an all cardboard drink that would be very unpleasant for the customer especially when the tip get soggy. This is what the plastic tip would be getting rid of. The plastic tip would also be made with recycled plastic to therefore appeal to the main customer base who cares greatly about sustainability.
