Bug List
1)    Bug #1: I believe having to pay a private company for water bothers me because I think clean water is a right.
Why: Because the first people that purchased the land with springs have monopolized the entire industry.
2)    Bug #2: The automated passport machines when you arrive at the airport nowadays are useless because you always have to end up doing the second line anyways.
Why: The airport is trying to be more efficient in passport control.
3)    Bug #3: Canvas, even though it is not useless I believe it has taken away from the fun of learning and has made school more dull.
Why: Schools are trying to make learning more efficient by having students in class at all times.
4)    Bug #4: Drugs in my opinion are a useless product, it only wastes time and damages your body.
Why: Because people  just want to disconnect for a moment.
5)    Bug #5: Memory foam on beds only makes my back hurt more and is not more comfortable.
Why: Because people like how it gives an extra layer of softness.
6)    Bug#6: Spray tans are expensive and a lot of times don’t even look that great.
Why: Because people don’t have time to get a real tan.
7)    Bugs #7: Chipotle shouldn’t charge an extra 2$ for guacamole, it should be included in what you are already paying.
Why: They want to make extra money.
8)    Bug #8: I believe plastic surgery is not necessary and only helps people hide their insecurities, unless it was an emergency.
Why: It is a good business because people are usually very insecure about their bodies.
9)    Bug #9: Economy class should not exist; airlines should compete to have the most comfortable seats between themselves and not classify their clients.
Why: Because airlines think it is monetarily beneficial for the company.
10) Bug #10: Guns really bother me because if there were no guns then there would be no gun problems.
Why: Because being allowed to carry a weapon is an established amendment.
11) Bug #11: I think chip bags should be half the size that they are because the content fits in half of the bag they give out.
Why: Marketing tactic to make the content of the bag look bigger.

Why: Updates outdate the device making the device break down slowly but surely and effectively making the consumers purchase another product that is not cost friendly.
13) Bug #13: I believe grades are useless and I think there should just be a P for pass and an F for fail.
Why: They allow for teaching institutions to have more students retake a course because it may not be the grade they need even though the passed the class.

Why: It is manipulation of the masses to best manipulate the polls in the future.
15) Bug #15: I think social security numbers are just a way for our government to label us and control us more.
Why: A social security number means income for the United States of America.
16) Bug #16: I believe everyone can grow their own food instead of giving profits to an organization that mass produces consumption products.
Why: Because people are too lazy to harvest their own food.
17) Bug #17: I don’t agree with how you have to pay for your phone monthly, you pay a flat fee for the phone and its service until the end of life of the phone.
Why: It maximizes profits for cellphone companies.
18) Bug #18: Endangered animals or living organisms should not be messed with and much less make a business out of their decay.
Why: Because endangered animals are more expensive than regular animals.

Why: Because to get married is the social norm.
20) Bug #20: I believe the sale of the white crayon is useless because paper is white.
Why: Because in very rare occasions there is black paper.

Reflection:
To be honest it was not that difficult for me to come up with 20 products or services from daily life that irritate me. I consider myself to be a very critical person even when things might seem they are perfect I somehow find a problem. Even though it took me a little over an hour I would consider this assignments most difficult aspect to be the patience of thinking about things that really bother you. All in all, I found this assignment very helpful because it makes you look at the other side of the argument and write it down which makes you really think about the reason why you might not appeal to that certain something.

  1. While I completely agree with some of the “bugs” listed above (as they are highly relatable), the large majority of them seem to be related in some way to the government and our economic system. This only appears problematic for future business endeavors; otherwise, many of them have valid origins. I find it difficult to find solutions for your “bugs” through civilian means; however, you may be able to resolve some of these problems for yourself through independent measures.

  2. Ricardo,
I find it interesting at how you took a step back looking at the world rather than criticizing the details of what affects your life on a daily basis. I especially agree with your spray tan comment and that time is a big reason for getting them, however, in recent years they have also gained popularity because people want to avoid skin cancer while still being tan.

I wish I could grow my own food but I think many people that dream of a garden live in an apartment or urban area where it is not possible to do so. Overall, very interesting post that made me think about life a little more than usual!

Also life hack: if you don't care too much about getting meat at chipotle, the veggie bowls come with guac included at no extra cost :)
